"Once you have
read Rene Jorgensen's book "Awakening After Life" I am sure you will
never fear death again and will look forward to it as you would look
forward to a voyage or adventure. Please get Rene's book and realize
what a gift Rene has given us all."
- Hans Frederick Wilhelm, Eugene, OR
"Those who are blessed enough to
travel there are the persons who are perhaps best equipped to
express for us what might fairly be called the 'ultimate lessons of
the Light.'"
- Kenneth Ring, author of Heading
Towards Omega and Lessons From the Light
"It is truly an important book...Rene Jorgensen opens his heart and
offers a powerful and refreshing testimony of his near-death
experience. He goes a step further and looks at the essential
philosophical and scientific issues with the eyes of someone who
underwent a transformational spiritual experience. A must-read for
anyone who wishes to reflect on the human condition and beyond."
- Evelyn Elsaesser-Valarino, author
of Talking with Angel about Illness, Death and Survival.
Co-author with Kenneth Ring of Lessons From the Light
"It's a pleasure to read your
book!...Your depth and breadth of knowledge is evident and
impressive."
- Marc Baldwin, Ph.D.
"One of the most moving and
informative accounts...a firsthand account of an experiencer who
articulates it well and can express many of the pearls of wisdom
that he has gleaned from his encounter with the Light and from much
personal research he has done as a philosopher."

An
excellent treatise for the recently deceased.,
May 30, 2008
My
appreciation for "Awakening After Life" stems from the fact that I
suffered from sleep apnea, which was undiagnosed for 30 years prior
to my receiving continuous pulmonary airway pressurization therapy,
CPAP. During these episodes, I was so close to physical death that
my soul/spirit left my body. During these experiences, I in no way
lost my central identity (ego) nor did I feel differently from my
physical body with two exceptions; 1) I could penetrate solid
objects like walls etc. having no tactile effect on anything I
touched. Yet, I felt solid when touching my spirit body. 2) I could
float, fly, ect. gravity did not affect me except as according to my
belief. If I thought I couldn't float or fly, I would find myself
bound to the earth as in normal (in the body) life. At no time did I
see or experience a tunnel, light, or see God or other spirit
beings.
I say this to differentiate my experience from the author of
"Awakening After Life" by Rene Jorgensen. I thought I was going
insane slowly and was so paranoid and frightened I spoke little of
these terrifying experiences; not even mentioning them to my doctor
or minister. It was only in 2002 I was diagnosed with chronic sleep
apnea when I realized how close to death I had been during those
terrible years. Naturally, during those years I read everything I
could get my hands on concerning psychic experience and survival of
spirit and ego beyond physical death; desperately trying to
understand what was happening to me. After diagnosis, I also
continued to read, experiment with various religious concepts, and
try to determine for myself whether the hardship of near death
trauma on my body and mind was responsible for creating the out of
body experience / hallucination.
One day while viewing You Tube, I came across one of the best
examples of veridical near death experience ever recorded;in the
case of Pam Reynolds. Pam underwent an operation called standstill
in which her body was cooled to 68 degrees Farenheit, her eyes were
taped shut, she had clicking ear plugs inserted in her ears to
monitor brain wave activity, the blood was drained from her brain,
and she was clinically brain dead for an hour and some minutes the
operation required to remove an an annuerism from the base of her
brain; a near impossible operation. While undergoing this operation,
she left her body and observed the doctors working on her;
describing what they did, the instruments they used, and reporting
accurately what they said on regaining consciousness. During the
experience, she was drawn to a light which became a tunnel leading
to a place of light where she saw people she knew to be deceased.
She spoke with them and was escorted back to her body by her
deceased uncle.
Needless to say, Pam's story was a great and welcome validation for
me since I suffered so much under the self conviction I was slowly
going insane during the time I experienced sleep apnea induced out
of body experiences. And later after I began therapy, I was sadly
self convinced my out of body experiences were some kind of deathbed
fiction devised by my dying brain; only an illusion or dream which
would ultimately end in dreamless blackness and oblivion.
After viewing Pam Reynold's experience on You Tube, I began to
believe again we are eternal beings. There are many interesting
theories concerning near death experiences on You Tube. One of the
most enlightening is Rene Jorgensen's excellently researched novel
entitled "Awakening After Life". Rene offers here an excellent
treatise both for those who have experienced near death and those
who are curious about whether we continue to exist after physical
death. Physicists such as Dr. Hammeroff, who is also an anesthetist,
believe modern developments in physics will eventually show
concepts, such as string theory and entanglement, prove survival of
human personality after death of the physical body. Rene mentions
Dr. Hammeroff's findings and tries to find validation in them as
well as in philosophical and religious concepts long recorded in the
annals of history.
If you have had a near death experience, out of body experience, or
been curious about the reality of life after physical death, this
work will convince you life is eternal and doesn't end with the
death of the bodies we wear. Rene convinces us by his experience the
NDE or OBE is not imagination, hallucination, or a convenient dream
to occupy the dying brain while the bodily processes shut down. If
you are a dying patient, get this book. I think of it as a manual
for those who are about to take the next step into the next
dimension of life. Of death Pam Reynolds says, "I see no truth in
the word death. I think it is a really bad, nasty lie." After you
read this wonderful book by Rene Jorgensen, I think you will also
feel as Pam feels.
While I was undergoing the hundreds of out of body and near death
experiences during my sleep apnea years, I was perpetually afraid of
dying. I feared sleep so much I used to drink heavily so I could go
to sleep quickly and hopefully avoid these terrifying experiences.
They terrified me because our culture teaches us physical life is
everything and death is the end of all experience. Even the Bible
and Christianity, as taught in the Church, celebrates death at the
graveside with ominous finality. It is as if the "Good News" for
which Christ is messenger to humanity has been denied by the living
world.
Once you have read Rene Jorgensen's book "Awakening After Life" I am
sure you will never fear death again and will look forward to it as
you would look forward to a voyage or adventure. Please get Rene's
book and realize what a gift Rene has given us all.
